Sandyford Pedal Pulse is an innovative partnership between Sandyford Business District, Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council and the supplier See.Sense
This project leverages data from cyclists to promote increased bike usage. By gathering and analyzing this data, the initiative aims to identify and prioritize investments in cycling infrastructure and policies, enabling cycling to become a fully integrated, efficient, and sustainable alternative to car travel. The ultimate goal is to significantly boost the number of cyclists throughout the District.
As part of the Sandyford Pedal Pulse project, 200 Bike-Light Sensors will be distributed to commuters within the Sandyford Business District. These sensors will record various data points such as road surface conditions, travel routes, and near misses. The insights gained from this data will aid in cycle infrastructure planning, accident prevention, and the promotion of active travel.
