SBD Innovation Summit 2022

The annual Sandyford Innovation Summit is taking place on Tuesday 27th and Wednesday 28th September 2022. The theme will be “Decarbonisation” and its impact on businesses and the general public. Over the past 2 years, this highly successful event was restricted due to Covid and was run virtually.

This year the 2-day event is being staged in the newly renovated Pavilion at Leopardstown Racecourse. There will be a live, conference element with presentations, firesides, and audience Q&A sessions. There will also be a significant exhibition element to proceedings, showcasing the best in sustainable transport options that are both currently available and in the pipeline.

Each day will start with a practical demonstration of a last mile hub/mobility island concept (a pivotal part of SBD’s Project Green Plan), where visitors to the event will get to sample ‘last mile green mobility’ first hand. Attendees will be asked to park in a designated car park over 1km from the event hall and use e-scooters, e-bikes and a ‘Green Bus’ provided by SBD to get to the venue.

Day 1, Tuesday September 27th - Mobility
The first day is dedicated to transportation and mobility in a decarbonising world. The range of speakers will be drawn from industry specialists, thought leaders and Dlrcc infrastructure experts.
The day will also include test drives of EVs, e-bikes and e-scooters. The e-bike and e-scooter test rides will take place on the road running alongside the race track itself and is bound to attract a lot of interest as we promote sustainable transport options, not only in the District, but in the national community as a whole.

Day 2, Wednesday September 28th – Technology in Decarbonisation & Future Energy Solutions
The second day focusses on the role of technology in decarbonisation and will look to real and practical energy solutions. There will be presentations from world experts and practical demonstrations from leading companies already living the decarbonisation way.
The Sandyford Business District Innovation Summit is for everybody in business today who wants to understand strategies and tactical solutions that are being, and can be, implemented to deliver a decarbonised future.
