Speaker Announcement: Ronan Herron Digital Strategy Officer Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council’s Digital Strategy Officer Ronan Herron will be one of the panelists at SBD Innovation Summit 2024.

As a Digital Strategy Officer at Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council (DLRCC), he has been leading and delivering various projects that leverage ICT, open source software, data, and mapping to transform and improve local government services and operations. With over 20 years of experience in ICT and 12 years in the Local Authority sector, he has a strong background and passion for innovation, collaboration, and efficiency in the public sector.

Some of the projects he has been involved in include defining and delivering the technology solution for the new Council Chamber, developing and delivering the Civic Hub customer care centre, digitising the dlr Grants System, and participating in the Smart Dublin SBIR IOT Challenge. He also has a keen interest and expertise in ICT in Education, having implemented and managed the Connect School Project, Ireland’s first one-to-one computing secondary school. He holds a Linux Professional Institute Certification, a Postgrad in Communications, and a BA in Philosophy and English.
