Talk on Lifestyle Medicine with Dr. Gillian Dagg
This is an overview lecture of ‘Lifestyle Medicine’ where some of the core principles of this evidence-based specialty are explored. It is a proactive approach to health care focusing on 6 pillars:
- Nutrition
- Avoidance of substances of abuse
- Stress
- Physical activity
- Sleep and
- Relationships
Making sustainable lifestyle changes has the potential to prevent 80% of chronic diseases (e.g. cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancers), increase longevity and improve
quality of life at all ages. Most importantly, it gives individuals autonomy over their own health.
Dr Gillian Dagg is a qualified General Practitioner, Lifestyle Medicine Physician and Tiny Habits Coach. She is passionate about this area of medicine and is determined to empower people to change their own health trajectory.
