COVID-19 Street Furniture Grant Scheme
The objective of the Street Furniture Grant is to contribute to vibrant town and village centres by assisting and supporting the hospitality sector. The Grant provides support towards the cost of equipment to provide additional outdoor seating and accessories in reopening post Covid-19.
A consistent and high-quality standard in the street furniture will be required in order to:
- enhance the appeal of town and village centres
- create confidence in visiting and dining in town and village centres
In order to place furniture in public places, applicants must firstly have applied for and been granted a Section 254 licence by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council. The Section 254 licence fee has been waived for table and chair street furniture applications in 2020.
Successful licence applicants will be considered eligible for the Street Furniture Grant, subject to all terms and conditions being complied with.
The grant only applies where additional street furniture is being provided and will not be payable for upgrades to existing seating areas.
Items must be purchased between 1st June 2020 and 31st October 2020 and payment will be made to approved applicants on submission of receipt for equipment purchased and an accompanying photograph.
